A Redland Business and Community Project

Redland City Mayor

Foreword by Cr Melva Hobson
Mayor – Redland City, August 2009

As mayor of Redland city and inaugural chair of the Redland city "Jobs Fightback Helping Our Own" campaign, I welcome you to our website. It explains the help available to those in our community who are experiencing the challenges and fear of job loss, unemployment or the possibility of business downturn and resulting job losses.

This campaign and website is about "helping Redlanders into work" and "strengthening business and saving jobs."

I am extremely proud of our business and community working together in this alliance to develop and implement this initiative. It is a simple but effective local response to a global downturn.

This practical free referral service operates through the "1300 Our Own" (1300 687 696), the central core of the campaign, from which you are referred to the organization best equipped to assist you or - by using the facilities of this site, you may be able to identify a service provider who has the help you need and you can contact them directly.

As well as the resources on offer through this site, other specialist services may also be available to assist some families in other ways.

Most of the resources on offer through the site or 1300 number are at no cost to users so we encourage you to explore the possibilities and see for yourself how "Jobs Fight Back Redland Helping Our Own" can make a difference for you and your family.

You will also find helpful hints, success stories and other meaningful information to guide you through this time of challenge.
