Carole: Hi, my name’s Carole. I’m part of the Language, Literacy and Numeracy program that we’re running at the REPS building in Cleveland. This is a really exciting new program where we hope to design individual learning plans for each student that comes along and we’re going to try to match what we teach you with what exactly is that you need to know. Whether its learning to read a bit better, learning to write, perhaps some maths or maybe you just want to brush up on your listening and speaking your skills. But come along, and have fun.
Keiran Langauge Literacy and Numeracy Video

John: Mate, um, you’re here on a program. Uh, do you want to tell us about it? It’s part of the helping our own program.
Keiran: Yep, LLNP (need verification) class... um I find it’s very good to help educate yourself and get yourself, upgrades sort of thing
John: That’s very good. Did you feel a bit funny sort of coming along the first time?
Keiran: yeah the first day I did. After that, I got used to everyone and started learning
John: Yep, right. What would you say to other um, for other kids and guys, or girls, or you know, your age and things like that. Um, do you think any of them could benefit from doing this sort of things as your doing, about helping to improve workplace english and numeracy?
Keiran: Oh, yep, sure um it’s a great thing to get your literacy and all up, plus spelling and that where I really needed to improve and it’ll help you get along to find a good job in the future.
John: Yep, so you probably found without some of that, been a bit hard to get the sort of work
Keiran: Yeah I haven’t been able to find any work in the last year and a half, because they haven’t found my grades are high enough.
John: Right, and so this will help you do that?
Keiran: Yes.

Redlands has a new reading, writing and maths program. It’s now available in Cleveland and Redland and is for anyone who doesn’t have these basic work and lifestyle skills and is eligible for this fully funded help. This was developed by Career Employment Australia, locally. This is not a back-to-school type show, but is hands on for real life and work.
